If you have seen the movie Sharknado, you’ve probably thought about how unlikely it would be that the events in the movie would happen in real life.

While it’s not likely that a storm carrying sharks will ever occur in the United States or any part of the world, Tara Reid wants everyone to know that it could happen.

“You know, it actually can happen,” she said. “I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually. Which is crazy. Not that it—the chances of it are, like, you know, it’s like probably ‘pigs could fly.’ Like, I don’t think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a sharknado.”

Sounds crazy right? She’s actually not too far off. There have been many incidents where storms and tornados have picked up animals and tossed them out in other locations. These animals are usually much smaller than sharks. Frogs, fish and birds are the most common animals to be picked up and rained down during a bad storm. While it is possible, it is very unlikely that a shark would be picked up in a storm and thrown out somewhere else.

You may never have to worry about a sharknado in real life, but if you ever do find yourself in a situation where large hungry sharks are raining down on you, take Mark McGrath’s advice if you want to survive.

“You have to stay calm, okay? Because everybody else is freaking out,” he said. “And you have to be good friends with Ian Ziering. If you’re part of Ian’s group, you got a 50/50 chance of survival.”
